IESDI - Institute for Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Development and Innovation

IESDI is a NGO-type organisation, conducting applied research with innovative technologies to foster higher growth and competitiveness. IESDI works through an extensive network that includes over 52 municipalities, local administrations, SMEs, and interest groups across Bulgaria, enabling inclusive and collaborative approaches. Our specific expertise covers:

• Designing and implementing successful energy community models and adapting them to the local context;

• Facilitating the engagement of diverse stakeholders - municipalities, local businesses, citizens, and policymakers, thus ensuring strong multi-level governance in the green transition;

• Exploring mixed-type (solar, biomass and geothermal) community energy projects, expanding beyond traditional frameworks. IESDI has a track record also in regeneration of rural areas, climate change adaptation, NBS for water treatment and EWS.
