Salnus

Salnus is an Istanbul-based orthopedic AI company building vendor-neutral surgical planning software for orthopedic surgery. Founded in 2022, Salnus turns CT and MRI into patient-specific 3D surgical plans, from automated segmentation to alignment analytics and patient-specific guides, with total knee arthroplasty and complex knee reconstruction as its deepest arena today. The software runs client-side in the browser, so patient images never leave the clinic, a deployment model built for GDPR compliance. Our thesis is simple: the plan, not the device, decides the outcome. We build the plan and keep it vendor-neutral, independent of any implant brand or robot.

Where we are: a live clinical pilot with orthopedic surgeons since June 2026; a Q1 publication (2026) with further manuscripts under review; patent filings in progress; international multi-center collaborations in arthroplasty and orthopedic oncology imaging. Research Use Only today; a certification path toward EU MDR and expansion across orthopedic subspecialties are on the roadmap.

For Horizon Europe consortia, Salnus is an SME technology partner for work packages in medical imaging AI (segmentation, landmark detection, surgical planning), clinical and external validation of health AI, clinical imaging data engineering (multi-center dataset curation, expert annotation and ground-truth workflows, GDPR-compliant anonymization), and privacy-preserving deployment of medical software. We are looking for digital health consortia, university hospitals for multi-center validation and dataset collaborations, implant manufacturers and medtech companies exploring digital planning around their own systems, and FSTP cascade opportunities in digital health.
