NDT for predictive maintenance and condition monitoring based on audio signals

About
We are looking for an industrial partner for technological and commercial cooperation in a joint project for the development of new Non Destructive Testing (NDT) technology.
The project will benefit from DTec's extensive know-how in audio signal processing technologies and AI based automatic pattern recognition, so it will be a related new technology standing on the base of our current solutions in the market.
Two different lines of applications are envisioned:
-
Non-intrusive defective materials detection based on ultrasonic probes: Steel, wood and other raw materials can be analysed in factories for density anomalies and internal cracks that cannot be detected by visual inspection, thus preventing defective products being delivered to customers. Can also be used for continuous checking of structural integrity in facilities like electricity poles, towers, dams, railways, etc.
-
Detection of faulty engines and machines based on ambient microphones: Real time monitoring for predictive maintenance that can detect malfunctions before a catastrophic breakdown. Specially useful for remote stations with a costly physical access by the technical staff.
Both families of applications have the additional benefit that lighting and dust in the environment don't have an impact on the microphones and ultrasonic probes, and therefore can be complementary with machine vision monitoring solutions.
