Behavioural Science, Psychosocial Adaptation and Patient-Reported Outcomes for Digital Health Projects

Our research group can contribute clinical and health psychology expertise to interdisciplinary Horizon Europe consortia working on digital and smart health solutions.

Our main areas of expertise include:

• Psychosocial determinants of health and illness behaviour

• Patient engagement and medication adherence

• Illness perceptions, health beliefs and self-efficacy

• Stress, anxiety, depression and psychological wellbeing in chronic illness

• Development of evidence-based psychoeducational and behavioural interventions

• User-centred evaluation of digital health technologies

• Patient-reported outcomes, acceptability, usability and intervention adherence

• Identification of vulnerable patient profiles and barriers to health behaviour change

• Clinical and behavioural evaluation of AI-supported and personalised digital health tools

We are particularly interested in projects targeting chronic diseases, ageing populations, women’s health, osteoporosis and fracture prevention, mental health, patient self-management and digitally supported preventive healthcare.

Our methodological expertise includes observational and intervention research, psychometric assessment, mediation and moderation analysis, latent profile analysis, structural equation modelling, and the design and evaluation of randomised or quasi-experimental studies.

We can contribute to needs assessment, co-design activities, intervention content development, clinical and psychosocial outcome selection, pilot implementation, user testing, data analysis, dissemination, and impact evaluation.
