Our vision is becoming one of the most preferred technology company around the world for presenting suspensions and lightweight solutions. With working experience at the Full-Service Supplier level, OlgunCelik undertakes critical responsibilities in vehicle projects as the design and strategic partner of global vehicle manufacturers. OlgunCelik R&D team has the expertise to participate in suspension development projects, and as a trusted partner, it is fully integrated into the client’s product development processes and work together with OEM engineers. The R&D center is continuously developing new methods to reduce the time required to develop an optimum design and uses well-known finite elements software to achieve this. To be in line with industry trends and technological developments, OlgunCelik decided to extend its capabilities with composite design, development and manufacturing investments. The main goal for this initiative was to set up know-how and infrastructure for composite leaf springs that are very strong alternatives to legacy products made with steel. OlgunTech Business Unit set-up was realized to focus on composite product development and manufacturing technologies. Composite development and production efforts were not limited to leaf springs. Other structural components such as bumper beams were also studied within this period. The strategic transformation plan of the organization is to offer lighter weight products to the end-user, to expand the product portfolio by developing and producing alternative automotive components based on polymer composite knowledge and production infrastructure. This initiative has been recognized as a product and business diversification opportunity for the company targeting the mainly automotive sector. Non-automotive fields like aerospace are also investigated to add into the new business development pipeline.
The growing demand for automatization and lack of clear digital strategy in the world (Accenture upstream oil and gas digital trends survey 2019) directed OlgunCelik to set up a new business unit (OlgunAutomation) with a team highly experienced in the following areas:
• Robotic machine tending
• Robotic palletizing & depalletizing
• Robotic surface treatment (grinding, polishing, coating, deburring, etc.)
• Robotic prepreg layup applications
• Software for the collaborative digital-twin environment to collect data from the field and engineering activities for further processing with AI (supervised regression & classification-based machine learning).
