About me

Jamie is Head of Research and Development at MiAlgae, a pioneering biotechnology company that transforms by-products from the whisky industry to produce a sustainable source of marine Omega-3s. This Omega3-rich product, NaturAlgae, is sold to aquaculture and pet food companies as a novel, sustainable ingredient that can reduce reliance on fish oil.

 Jamie joined MiAlgae as a Research Scientist in 2021. The R&D team at MiAlgae are responsible for developing and scaling MiAlgae’s process from laboratory to pilot scale, including strain, fermentation, and process development. Jamie holds a PhD in synthetic biology from the University of Exeter.
