Joe Penhaul Smith

Joe is one of the founders of Sustainable Extricko, the world leaders in sail recycling and Institute of Engineering and Technology 2023 Start-Up of the year. Joe has an extensive experience in applying fundamental science to solving real world issues, particularly using advances in biotechnology and chemical engineering to scale-up the circular economy solution: Extricko. His knowledge base of green chemistry and understanding of academia have been integral in the early stages of this company, as are his previous experiences in the scale-up of start-ups from technical concept to pilot scale.
