For users looking for inspection solutions, stereoscopic and metallographic microscopes are available, which can be optionally equipped with a camera for archiving. Such a system can also be used to perform simple measurements – dimensioning. A more advanced group is represented by measuring devices. Currently, technological developments have led to traditional workshop microscopes being replaced by modern devices equipped with touch screens and computational control electronics. Increasingly, 2D microscopes are being joined by 3D microscopes, which enable measurements in three axes. Thanks to the use of a third ruler, a 3D microscope can measure the geometry of a product by focusing on its surface, making it possible to measure, for example, its height.
