ECONOMIC CHAMBER OF NORTH MACEDONIA Brief profile The Economic Chamber of North Macedonia (ECNM) is the largest and most representative business association in the country. Established in 1922, with a tradition of 103 years, it is one of the key stakeholders in the economic development of the country. ECNM is a professional non - profit and non - governmental business association that represents the common interests of its members, which are companies performing economic activities. Activities of the Chamber are directed towards improving the work efficiency and operation of the members and their organization, expressing the interests of the members of the Chamber before the competent authorities and institutions, especially in the preparation of economic legislation, providing expert advices, information and assistance, improving and promoting of the business-climate in the country and encouraging and developing economic cooperation and investments with foreign countries. The Chamber is organized on the private law chamber model, with membership on voluntary basis, and has the largest membership base in the country, including more than 15.000 member companies. We are proud with the fact that our members are the driving force of the Macedonian economy, participating with: 95% of the GDP of the Republic of North Macedonia 95% of total employment in the country’s business sector 98% of all taxes and contributions paid to the state 94% of the country's foreign trade volume. In the wide coverage of companies-members of the Chamber, in our structure we include SMEs and large corporations, domestic companies and foreign investors, companies from all sectors of the economy, industry and services, companies focusing on exporting and companies working solely on the domestic market. In our structure, we have the following forms of organization • 16 Sector Associations, organized by sector/industry • 10 Sub-Associations • 39 Groups • 5 Regional Offices countrywide • Foreign Investors Council • Exporters’ Club • 5 Business Councils
