Greenlyte: Engineering resilient synthetic fuels from air, water and renewable power.
About us
Greenlyte builds plants that produce the two building blocks of every synthetic fuel - green carbon and hydrogen - on site, using only air, water and renewable electricity. Our patented LiquidSolar™ platform makes fuel production independent of fossil imports and possible wherever renewable power is available. Founded in 2022 in Essen, Germany, Greenlyte has raised over €55M from investors including Carbon Removal Partners, Earlybird, Partech, AENU and Green Generation Fund and employs 80+ people from over 15 nations.
Technology
LiquidSolar™ captures CO₂ from ambient air and co-produces green hydrogen in one integrated, fully electrified process:
Capture: a water-based, non-toxic absorbent binds CO₂ from ambient air.
Buffer: the CO₂ is stored as solid bicarbonate crystals, concentrated 600,000-fold.
Release: electrochemical desorption releases CO₂ and produces H₂, both at >99% purity, whenever renewable power is available, and regenerates the absorbent.
The CO₂/H₂ output feeds directly into different fuel synthesis pathways, such as e-methanol or Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
Proof points
TRL 7 since March 2026: LiquidSolar™ SNG plant in Duisburg, coupled directly to fuel synthesis
55,000+ operating hours under real ambient conditions across test stands and plants
9 granted patents
Commercial-scale plant at Chempark Marl, commissioning 2027 (1,400 t CO₂ -> 1,000 t e-methanol p.a.)
Strategic offtake partnerships with Lufthansa/Eurowings and MB Energy
Use cases
e-SAF for aviation
e-methanol for shipping and chemicals
Drop-in feedstock for existing synthesis assets
Decentralised, crisis-proof fuel supply for critical infrastructure and defence (e.g. GigaPtX initiative with Rheinmetall)
We are looking for
E-fuel project developers that require for CO₂ and H₂ feedstock, operators of refineries and chemical parks, fuel offtakers, and electrolysis and synthesis technology partners for integration.
Greenlyte's patented LiquidSolar technology captures CO2 from ambient air and produces green hydrogen in one integrated process – the feedstock for e-methanol and synthetic fuels. Looking for offtakers, project partners and investors.
