Neology Ammonia Cracker – On-Site Hydrogen Production from Ammonia

Neology offers ammonia cracking technology for on-site hydrogen production, enabling customers to use ammonia as a hydrogen carrier.

Our cracker converts ammonia into a hydrogen-rich gas through catalytic decomposition. Depending on the application, purification can be integrated to meet the required hydrogen quality.

The technology combines catalyst expertise, thermal integration and advanced controls. It can be integrated into customers’ equipment or broader energy systems, with capacity and configuration defined around project requirements.

Target applications include:

• Hydrogen supply for fuel cells

• Hydrogen or ammonia–hydrogen engines

• Industrial hydrogen use

• Hydrogen refuelling systems, with downstream purification and compression

By producing hydrogen where it is needed, ammonia cracking provides an alternative to transporting and storing compressed hydrogen. Project economics and lifecycle emissions depend on ammonia sourcing, energy inputs and operating conditions.
