About
University of Donja Gorica (UDG) is a dynamic private university located in Donja Gorica, on the outskirts of Podgorica, Montenegro—established in 2007 as the country’s second private higher education institution.
As a pioneering research‑entrepreneurial institution, UDG offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs across over 12 faculties, with a student body of approximately 3,500 and around 300 academic staff. Its modern campus spans around 16,700 m², making it the largest privately owned educational facility in Montenegro.
In 2022, UDG entered a transformative 20-year strategic partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) and the Cintana Alliance, enabling dual‑degree pathways, access to ASU’s curriculum, faculty, global network, and innovative online programs—positioning UDG as a regional hub for innovation and internationalization.
UDG places strong emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary education, fostered through initiatives like the Entrepreneurial Nest (supporting student startups), modern labs (e.g., 3D, IT, food safety), and active involvement in international projects and cooperation agreements (over 50 projects, including Horizon2020, Erasmus+, COST, Eureka, World Bank grants).
Guided by the mission “UDG student – Responsible citizen of a global world,” and the motto “Be a part of the History of the Future,” the university is dedicated to cultivating versatile graduates through student‑centered learning, small‑group formats, multilingual programs, and a vibrant educational environment that blends academic rigor with real-world application.
