About

The Multimedia System Department is a part of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Informatics of the Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk, Poland). It has considerable experience in European projects and dozens of domestic ones. We participated in the FP6, FP7, and Horizon projects, among others, in the area of preservation towards storage and access. Standardised Practices for Audiovisual Contents in Europe, PERFORM - A sophisticated multi-parametric system for the continuous practical assessment and monitoring of motor status in parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases; INDECT - Intelligent Information System Supporting Observation, Searching and Detection for Security of Citizens in Urban Environment; ADDPRIV - Automatic Data Relevance Discrimination for a Privacy-sensitive video surveillance; COPCAMS - COgnitive & Perceptive CAMeraS and others. We are currently developing artificial intelligence systems for voice-based medical documentation by doctors, automatic diagnosis in phoniatrics based on voice and video laryngoscopy images of the larynx, hearing diagnosis using brainstem response analysis, automatic audiogram classification, and glaucoma recognition, as well as contactless monitoring of breathing and heart rate. For many years, we have been collaborating with numerous partners, including the largest Polish bank, the Road and Motorway Directorate, the Medical University of Gdańsk, the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, and a range of foreign partners, comprising both research institutions and companies. We offer expertise in projects involving sound and image analysis, multimedia technologies, and artificial intelligence in various fields, including medicine, banking, automatic traffic analysis, smart city systems, and many others.
