IMDEA Water Institute
About
IMDEA Water is a research institute based in the Community of Madrid, Spain, dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and innovation in water science and technology. Its research addresses key challenges in water resources management, water quality, hydrology, environmental sustainability, and the impacts of climate change on water systems.
The institute provides an interdisciplinary research environment for developing innovative, evidence-based solutions to water-related challenges and fostering collaboration among researchers, universities, public authorities, industry, and international partners.
IMDEA Water is interested in participating in Horizon Europe collaborative projects addressing water security, climate change, environmental pollution, ecosystem sustainability, and the links between water, environmental health, and community resilience. The institute welcomes partnerships that integrate scientific research, advanced monitoring and modelling, data-driven approaches, and stakeholder engagement to support sustainable water management and resilient communities.
Potential collaboration areas include atmospheric pollution and water contamination, climate-related water risks, integrated environmental monitoring, water security, and interdisciplinary approaches connecting environmental quality with human health.
