The Institut für Thermodynamik der Ernährungssysteme (ITE) is a non-profit research institute based in Dresden, Germany, with a second location in Wemding, Bavaria.
ITE applies thermodynamic methods to food systems. We analyse energy use, material flows and efficiency along the entire chain, from primary production to the plate.
The institute was founded by Werner Müller, a veterinarian with about 20 years of herd management experience at the Landwirtschaftliche Lehranstalten Triesdorf. This practical background shapes our view of animal health, agriculture and nutrition.
We are looking for partners for interdisciplinary collaboration in EU Horizon projects at the interface of food systems, animal health and sustainability.
