The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UVMB), Hungary, is a leading European institution dedicated to veterinary education, scientific research, and innovation. With more than 230 years of academic tradition, UVMB is Hungary’s only veterinary university and actively participates in international research collaborations and European research programmes.
The University's research activities span animal health and welfare, wildlife biology, environmental toxicology, molecular biology, biochemistry, infectious diseases, food safety, and One Health. Its multidisciplinary research teams combine fundamental and applied sciences to address emerging challenges affecting animal populations, ecosystems, and public health.
Within the field of biodiversity and environmental sustainability, UVMB contributes expertise in pollinator health, ecotoxicology, environmental stress physiology, oxidative stress, and molecular and biochemical biomarkers. Research activities include investigating the effects of pesticides, climate-related stressors, and their interactions on honey bees and other organisms.
UVMB offers laboratory infrastructure, experimental models, analytical expertise, and experience in national and international research projects.
We welcome Horizon Europe consortium partnerships focusing on biodiversity conservation, drivers of invertebrate decline, pollinator protection, environmental risk assessment, biodiversity monitoring, ecosystem resilience, and One Health. We are particularly interested in interdisciplinary collaborations that connect mechanistic research with practical solutions for biodiversity protection and sustainable ecosystems.
