Umwelt-Bildungs-Zentrum Steiermark (UBZ)

The Styrian Environmental Education Center (UBZ) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in Graz that is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and sustainable development.

The UBZ’s goal is to provide long-term support for the public mandate for environmental education and to offer high-quality educational programs. Its target audiences include educational institutions at all grade levels, as well as municipalities, public institutions, and stakeholders at the state, federal, and international levels.

To achieve this goal, the UBZ develops and implements educational projects, campaigns, and initiatives; organizes events and professional development programs; and creates teaching materials as well as digital and audiovisual content. In addition, it advises and supports schools, municipalities, and other organizations, and promotes collaboration between the education sector, government, and society.

The UBZ operates at the intersection of education, the environment, and society, and contributes its expertise in project implementation, communication, and networking to national and international collaborations.
