The Amazonia Campus of the National University of Colombia, located in Leticia, is a national presence campus dedicated to research, higher education and outreach in the Colombian Amazon and the wider Pan-Amazon region.
Established in 1994 from the Leticia Scientific Station created in 1989, the Campus hosts the Amazonian Research Institute IMANI, its first academic unit. IMANI produces and shares high-quality, regionally relevant knowledge to address Amazonian challenges through interdisciplinary research, training and collaboration.
Our work connects biodiversity, ecosystem restoration, climate change, environmental health, sustainable food systems, interculturality, community governance and cross-border integration. We work from and with Amazonian territories, linking local knowledge and priorities with national and international research networks.
