Next Gen Foundation is a nonprofit foundation based in Wrocław, Poland, established in 2024. We focus on educational innovation, migrant integration and digital learning solutions, developing initiatives that connect learning, inclusion and community participation.
Through the Barycz Valley Biodiversity Campus project, we are extending this work into biodiversity education and cooperation for nature restoration. Our ambition is to connect educational practice and community engagement with scientific expertise, helping people participate in solutions for healthier, more resilient ecosystems.
OUR WORK AND EXPERIENCE
The foundation develops and manages educational and cultural projects, including initiatives supported by public and institutional grants. Our work covers identifying needs, developing concepts and funding applications, planning activities and budgets, coordinating implementation, monitoring results, and preparing narrative and financial reports.
We collaborate with public institutions, NGOs and international stakeholders. Our experience includes developing digital education solutions for migrant and multicultural children, with an emphasis on inclusion and accessible learning.
The foundation’s leadership brings experience in educational entrepreneurship, financial and operational management, legal processes and organisational change. This includes establishing and managing preschool education services for children from Ukrainian refugee families in Wrocław, alongside earlier responsibility for large teams and regional branch networks in the financial sector.
This combination supports our ability to organise activities, coordinate partners, manage resources and translate project objectives into practical delivery.
BARYCZ VALLEY BIODIVERSITY CAMPUS
The Barycz Valley Biodiversity Campus connects biodiversity education, local participation and cooperation on ecosystem restoration.
We aim to develop the campus as a setting for collaboration between researchers, educators, restoration practitioners, public authorities, civil society and local communities. Its role in a European partnership will be developed jointly with partners, reflecting local needs, scientific guidance and funding requirements.
Our interests include biodiversity education, community participation, living lab approaches, implementation barriers, and knowledge exchange between local initiatives and European networks. We see education and participation as essential elements of lasting restoration efforts.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE CONSORTIUM
The Barycz Valley Biodiversity Campus will provide a field-based environment for studying one of Central Europe’s most distinctive cultural and natural landscapes. The Barycz Valley encompasses an exceptional mosaic of fishponds, reedbeds, rivers, wet meadows, forests and agricultural land. Centuries of traditional pond management have created habitats of international importance, particularly for waterbirds, aquatic plants and wetland species.
The campus will enable students and researchers from European universities to combine field observations with laboratory analysis. Its location in Krośnice provides direct access to the Barycz Valley Landscape Park, the Milicz Ponds Nature Reserve, Natura 2000 sites and a wetland protected under the Ramsar Convention.
This setting offers opportunities to connect ecological research with the practical challenges of managing a landscape shaped by both natural processes and human activity. Together with consortium partners, we aim to develop field studies, educational activities and participatory approaches relevant to ecosystem restoration and resilience.
Depending on the agreed scope, the foundation could also contribute to:
• Biodiversity education, field learning and awareness-raising activities.
• Stakeholder engagement and participatory workshops.
• Community learning and inclusive participation.
• Coordination of activities, budgets, monitoring and reporting within assigned responsibilities.
• Dissemination and exchange of practical experience between partners.
• Adaptation of living lab approaches to the local campus context.
PARTNERS WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET
We are looking to connect with universities and research institutes, ecosystem restoration organisations, existing living labs and networks, environmental NGOs, public authorities, and specialists in citizen science, participatory methods, environmental education and impact assessment.
We welcome prospective consortium coordinators seeking a Polish nonprofit partner with experience in education, social initiatives and project management.
Our goal is to build lasting partnerships that combine scientific knowledge, local involvement and effective organisation, enabling the Barycz Valley Biodiversity Campus to contribute to shared European nature restoration objectives.
