About

Our Vision

Our mission is to generate high-quality, evidence-based research that improves population health and informs better decisions. We investigate the social, environmental, behavioural, and healthcare factors that shape health and well-being, with a particular focus on identifying effective interventions and policies to reduce health inequalities.

At the Scientific Research Centre for Public Health (SRC4PH), University of Vlore “Ismail Qemali”, we bring together multidisciplinary expertise to address complex public health challenges and translate scientific evidence into meaningful improvements in health, healthcare, and communities.

Our Approach

Public health challenges are complex and cannot be addressed from a single perspective. Our research brings together multidisciplinary expertise, innovative methods, and real-world evidence to better understand health needs and develop practical, evidence-informed solutions.

We connect research with practice, policy, education, and community engagement to support healthier and more resilient populations.

Cohort Studies

We follow groups of people over time to understand how health conditions develop, which factors influence health outcomes, and who may be most at risk. Cohort studies allow us to identify patterns, explore risk factors, and generate evidence that can guide prevention and early intervention.

Surveys

We use flexible, multimodal approaches to reach diverse populations and capture meaningful health information. Combining web-based, postal, and face-to-face data collection allows us to explore health behaviours, experiences, knowledge, needs, and inequalities while maximizing participation and data quality.

Cross-Sectional Studies

Cross-sectional research provides a snapshot of population health at a specific point in time. By examining health status, behaviours, exposures, and determinants simultaneously, we can identify emerging needs, uncover inequalities, and generate evidence to inform targeted public health interventions and policies.
