ECSA and its network offer citizen science expertise for Horizon Europe NATURE 2027
Strategic Tech Development and Fundraising Officer at European Citizen Science Association

About
The European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) is interested in connecting with consortia developing proposals for selected Horizon Europe NATURE 2027 topics.
ECSA can contribute directly to proposals as a project partner, particularly where citizen science, co-creation, participatory monitoring, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, or science–society–policy interfaces can strengthen the project.
At the same time, ECSA also aims to support its member community by helping relevant organisations and experts identify opportunities to contribute to emerging consortia. Through our European network, we can help create connections between proposal coordinators and actors with complementary citizen science expertise, thematic knowledge, methodological experience, or established communities of practice.
Depending on the topic and consortium needs, relevant contributions may include:
-
citizen science and participatory research design;
-
co-creation and stakeholder engagement;
-
participatory biodiversity and environmental monitoring;
-
citizen-generated data and data-quality approaches;
-
community mobilisation and inclusive participation;
-
capacity building and training;
-
living lab and co-creation methodologies;
-
evaluation of participation and societal impact;
-
knowledge exchange and science–society–policy interfaces;
-
communication, dissemination and European-level networking;
-
transfer, replication and scaling of citizen science approaches.
We are particularly interested in proposals addressing transformative change for biodiversity, ecosystem restoration living labs, biodiversity monitoring, biodiversity–health connections, PFAS-related biodiversity impacts, and environmental or ocean observation.
We welcome contact from coordinators and consortium partners who are:
-
looking for ECSA as a direct project partner;
-
seeking citizen science expertise for specific tasks or work packages; or
-
looking to connect with relevant organisations and experts from the wider ECSA community.
