About
HARLO Kft. is a Hungarian engineering and manufacturing company specialized in rotary friction welding (RFW) technology. Founded in 1991 as a family-owned business, the company has developed extensive expertise in industrial friction welding applications as well as in the design and development of its own welding equipment.
HARLO combines contract manufacturing with engineering and technology development, supporting industrial partners from feasibility studies and process development to pilot production and small- to medium-series manufacturing.
Rotary friction welding enables high-strength, highly repeatable joints with minimal thermal distortion, making it particularly suitable for precision shafts, drivetrain components, and mechanically loaded rotational parts. The technology can often simplify component design, reduce machining operations, and allow efficient joining of different materials.
In addition to production services, HARLO develops and manufactures its own rotary friction welding machines, designed for reliable industrial operation and stable process control.
HARLO has experience working with international industrial partners and has contributed to projects for companies such as Hilti, Peikko, Knorr-Bremse, and BPW, particularly in applications related to precision mechanical components and drivetrain systems.
The company is interested in collaboration with manufacturers, research institutions, and technology partners in areas such as advanced manufacturing, precision mechanical engineering, and innovative joining technologies. HARLO aims to contribute its expertise in rotary friction welding to industrial development projects and international cooperation initiatives.
