MATİL Material Test and Innovaiton Laboratories Inc.

MATİL (Materials Testing and Innovation Laboratories Inc.) is an R&D and testing organisation specialising in metallurgy, valorisation of steel by-products and sustainable material technologies. The organisation conducts applied research, material development and performance validation activities focused on transforming steelmaking residues such as Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) slag and mill scale into high value-added materials.

MATİL develops resource-efficient and low-carbon material solutions for white goods and heavy industry applications, including functional and high-density concretes, alternative aggregates and construction materials. Its laboratory infrastructure supports mechanical testing, microstructural analysis, material characterisation and pilot-scale production, enabling technology validation under industrially relevant conditions.

The organisation works in close cooperation with industrial partners and research institutions, contributing to national and EU-oriented R&D initiatives through project idea development, technical validation and scalability studies. MATİL’s activities are aligned with circular economy principles and support the objectives of the Clean Steel and Processes4Planet partnerships.
