DeepHERO (Deep Learning and Heterogeneous Systems) Lab is a leading research entity at MDU and Taltech focused on next-generation AI systems that integrate algorithmic innovation with advanced hardware and embedded compute platforms. The lab conducts cutting-edge research in reliable and energy-efficient AI, real-time and safety-critical machine learning, federated and distributed intelligence, neuromorphic computing, and hardware–software co-design. DeepHERO collaborates closely with major industrial partners across automotive, aerospace, healthcare, and industrial automation sectors, delivering AI solutions optimized for constrained, heterogeneous, and mission-critical environments. With strong engagement in Horizon Europe, KDT/Chips JU, EIC, and MSCA projects, DeepHERO contributes to shaping Europe’s future AI infrastructure, from edge and domain AI clusters to trustworthy large-scale intelligent systems.
