About
The Institute for Transport and Logistics (ITL) is a nonprofit body founded on 17th December 2003. The main mission ITL is to drive innovation and excellence in the field of transport, logistics and mobility in the Emilia-Romagna Region by triggering collaboration among public administrations (Regione Emilia-Romagna – RER, provinces and municipalities, the Ravenna`s seaport and the node authorities), private companies (logistics providers, hauliers, manufacturing companies, etc.) and training institutes (universities, business schools, professionals trainers, etc.). ITL acts as a Regional competence centre on transport, logistics and mobility, bringing a consolidated experience in EU-funded projects. ITL is highly active in research activities at the international level, also through EU funding. It has served as a coordinator, partner, and technical advisor in tens of EU-funded initiatives in Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, CEF, Interreg/European Territorial Cooperation, 6FP, 7FP-CIP, IEE, Marco Polo, and Leonardo Da Vinci/Erasmus+ in different topics. ITL is currently involved in 7 Horizon Europe projects.
ITL supports regional organizations in the digital transition related to the management of the transport sectors and aiming to optimize and maximize the transport flows of the region.
ITL coordinates on behalf of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the E.R.I.C. (Emilia-Romagna Intermodal Cluster, https://www.ericintermodal.it) which include the main intermodal actors at the regional level (terminals, nodes and the port), with the aim to develop collaborative activities and to promote the Emilia-Romagna Region’s system of intermodal platforms on the national and international stage.
ITL is a very active training body, organizing professional courses on transport and logistics.
ITL develops research, pilot & study activities in cooperation with public authorities, supporting them in planning, stakeholders engagement and involvement, setting up of policies, their implementation and monitoring, and with business players in the following main fields:
