About
The Lisbon School of Engineering (ISEL), an organic unit of the Polytechnic University of Lisbon, is a distinguished higher education institution committed to delivering excellence in scientific and technical education within a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment. With 4,000 students, ISEL offers high-quality, applied, and hands-on training across various engineering programs. The faculty includes experts involved in international research in areas such as applied mathematics, chemistry and physics, earth and environmental science, biotechnology, advanced materials, photonics, cybersecurity, energy, intelligent systems, manufacturing, industrial management, and control systems, among others.
The Centre of Technology and Systems (CTS) addresses engineering systems with a cyber-physical dimension, including modeling and design, development of support technologies and methods. CTS aims to develop theoretical and applied research and encourages technology transfer mostly supported by spin offs and deep involvement in international R&D projects, targeting physical and cyber parts, focusing on micro/nanoelectronics (smart devices design and technology processes), with an emphasis on energy-efficient SoCs in advanced CMOS nodes, opto-electronics, sensors, energy harvesting and FPGA technologies.
