Innovation River is an innovative company with the objective of creating innovation, enhance people’s ideas and creativity, and offer new perspectives and opportunities to the best technical and scientific minds in the European, national and regional territories. The company focuses on the development of products and software solutions based on the team’s technical skills and expertise, which are constantly updated and strengthened thanks to the participation in European research projects.

Innovation River is able to offer software development services and highly specialized “made to order” applications, customized for the client’s specific needs. Alongside with specialized software solutions, the startup is also able to offer “turnkey” products and applications (e.g., management and digitization software), ready to use and to be integrated in pre-existing systems and processes, in order to respond to more far-reaching needs.

The company’s innovative element is based on the merging of knowledge and experience from research with the expertise in the design and development of services. The latter shall benefit from techniques and ideas borrowed from the former and appropriately scaled on smaller domains.

Therefore, Innovation River wants to take part in European research projects, leveraging on its partners’ previous experiences in the IoT sector (Internet of Things: extending internet network to objects through the usage of sensors, software applications and technologies, allowing exchange of data among devices), in the development of applications and systems based on WSN (Wireless Sensor Network, a distributed network architecture, made up of autonomous devices able to communicate and gather data from their surroundings), and in solutions applying the Blockchain technology to traceability. The goal is to participate in Research and Development activities in order to have the opportunity of putting into practice and bringing to a new level the knowledge of the technical team; consequently starting to explore and take part -also in collaboration with other companies or universities- in cutting-edge technology projects, such as Quantum Computing (in particular, software development based on programming languages made for quantum computers, which, unlike programming languages for classical computers, make use of a different kind of programming paradigm), in the large-scale research and innovation initiative of the European Commission “Quantum Technologies Flagship”.

Furthermore, Innovation River also aims to train new creative minds in the IT sector, in order to transfer a comprehensive know-how comprising each phase of the design and development of a software solution or product, along with a flexible, effective and productive way of working in all the phases characterizing the activities in the IT field: from design to development, test and validation, as well as software and product maintenance.
