Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Non Ferrous Metals Division in Skawina

The Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, Division in Skawina, has the following cooperation possibilities in the field of:

• Designing (selecting) the chemical compositions of new alloys based on aluminum or magnesium,

• Research on alloys and metal quality, parameters of continuous and semi-continuous casting and heat treatment of ingots/billets from Al and Mg alloys - including the production of materials (ingots/billets) for machining or plastic working.

• Plastic processing technologies (mainly direct and indirect extrusion, die forging of Al and Mg alloys, hot plastic consolidation of powder materials),

• Development new technologies of plastic processing for advanced materials from Al alloys and their heat treatment in order to obtain unconventional products (profiles, forgings, etc.).

• Production of bars, wires, profiles and forgings from standard and modified alloys with new properties - intended for the production of weapons, equipment, vehicles and military drones (from aluminum alloys and magnesium alloys).

• Development of anodizing and dyeing technology for aluminum and its alloys for special purposes,

• Production of anti-abrasive hard anodic oxide coatings,

• Accredited metallurgical tests (microscopic, mechanical, X-ray, corrosion properties, processes).
