IBS Consulting

IBS Consulting is a consulting firm specialized in supporting industrial companies — particularly in the steel and advanced manufacturing sectors — in accessing European Union funding for research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects. Based in the Lombardy Region and active across Italy, we work with a wide range of clients, including steel manufacturers, mechanical engineering firms, and industrial technology providers, helping them secure EU support to bring their innovation strategies to life.

We currently manage a portfolio of 8 EU-funded projects: 4 projects under the LIFE Programme, 1 Innovation Fund project, and 3 Horizon Europe projects. Our team provides end-to-end support across the entire project lifecycle — from identifying funding opportunities and designing project concepts to drafting proposals, building consortia, and managing funded initiatives.

IBS Consulting is particularly specialized in circular economy projects, with a strong focus on the recovery of critical raw materials from industrial waste, such as slags, ashes, and end-of-life components. However, we remain open and highly experienced in a wide variety of R&D project types, including those related to energy efficiency, industrial decarbonization, new materials, and digital transformation.

We also act as strategic representatives for several regional clusters in key sectors such as mobility, smart cities, and agrifood. Through this role, we actively foster collaboration between enterprises, research institutions, and public authorities, building high-impact projects that align with both local and European priorities. Our mission is to strengthen the innovation capacity, sustainability, and global competitiveness of Italian industry — with a particular emphasis on the evolving needs of the steel and manufacturing ecosystem.
