About

The Research Council of Lithuania (LMT) is the national institution that manages competitive research funding, evaluates research quality, and advises the Government on science and innovation policy. It funds scientific research projects, doctoral studies, and researcher mobility programs.

The Council also coordinates national and international research programs, promotes open science, monitors research ethics, and represents Lithuania in European and global research initiatives like Horizon Europe and ERA-NET.

Through these activities, the Council aims to strengthen Lithuania’s research capacity, foster innovation, and integrate Lithuanian science into the global research community.
