About
Bialystok University of Technology was established in 1949. The University continues the rich tradition of higher education in Bialystok. It was created on the basis of infrastructure, academic staff and scientific achievements of other Bialystok universities: NOT Private Evening School of Engineering, Evening School of Engineering and Higher School of Engineering.
Currently, Bialystok University of Technology is the largest technical university in north-eastern Poland. Our mission is high-quality education of students and young scientists, conducting scientific research at the highest international level and commercialisation of research results. In cooperation with the economic environment we implement innovative technical solutions that affect the innovativeness of the economy. We also take action in response to social needs.
Almost 7 thousand students are currently studying at the 6 faculties of the Bialystok University of Technology. Our lecturers are practitioners and experts in their fields. Graduates of the Bialystok University of Technology are in demand on the national and international labour markets. They share their successes with the dynamically operating PB Alumni Association.
There are 66 student circles and organisations, Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship and Selected New Technologies and Career Development and Alumni Relations Office.
The Bialystok University of Technology is a regional leader in research, development and teaching. Students and employees have access to the latest scientific achievements. In 2004-2021, PB implemented over 130 projects with a total value exceeding PLN 493 million.
Our University raises substantial funds for foreign exchange programmes. Thanks to active international contacts the University is perceived by foreign universities as a reliable and trustworthy partner. The Bialystok University of Technology, together with the Cracow University of Technology and Tianjin Chengjian University, co-runs the International School of Engineering at Tianjin Chengjian University. It is subject to the laws of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Poland.
In 2021, the university became a partner of Xylopolis – the presentation of the Podlaskie Voivodeship at EXPO 2020 Dubai, which may become the International Centre for Science and Arts on the campus of the Bialystok University of Technology.
