ADMEC at NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY

About

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a large comprehensive university in the UK, and received prestigious Queen's Anniversary Prize for its world­ class research.

As the coordinator and lead partner, the university's Advanced Design and Manufacturing Engineering Centre (ADMEC) successfully conducts/conducted a number of EU projects (Horizon Europe REBELION, Horizon Europe SMILE CITY, H2020 CIRC4Life, FP7 myEcoCost, FP7 cycLED, FP7 CBM Agitators, CIP Eco-innovation Ecolights, Asia link and Asia ICT, etc), in addition to projects supported by Research Councils UK, governmental departments, regional development agencies, industries, and other international funding organisations.

ADMEC's research arears include circular economy, sustainability in industrial implementations, environmental and social LCA, sustainable production and consumption, eco-credits/eco-cost scheme, eco-accounting, eco-labelling, digital twin, ICT platform to manage the data across the system developed for the project, and digital product passports, which are underpinned by Internet of things, block chain, Big data, mobile App and systems, condition monitoring, control, artificial intelligence, traceability, NFC/RFID, etc.

ADMEC’s research has been implemented in wide real world application areas, including manufacturing industry, construction, transport, textile, smart cities, renewable energy, design engineering, eco-labelling based on LCA results, consumer mobile Apps, vegetable farming, meat supply chain and other related areas.

ADMEC has considerable expertise in applications of EU funding, including Horizon Europe, H2020, Green deals, Framework programmes and others, either as a coordinator or core consortium member.
