Kyiv polytechnic institute (since 2016 – National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”) was founded in 1898. Over the period of its existence it has trained 370 thousand of specialists, 60 thousand of which during of the period of Ukrainian independence. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is among the top 1000 universities worldwide according to the international QS ranking, and in the subject area of "Engineering & Technology" it ranks among the top of 400. In the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute holds a position among the top 500 leading universities globally. Furthermore, the university annually occupies high positions in the Webometrics Ranking of the World's Universities, as well as in the national ranking "Top-200 Ukraine".
