TRYGONS S.A. is a pioneering Greek manufacturer specializing in the design and production of large, complex composite components, with a core expertise in carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP). Operating across the marine, automotive, and competitive sports sectors, TRYGONS stands out for making CFRP not the exception but the norm, offering high-performance, lightweight, and structurally resilient commercial vessels as well as solutions for other sectors with great industrial scalability. In a market where carbon fiber is still considered exotic, TRYGONS leads by example, offering civilian vessels entirely made of CFRP as standard products rather than premium outliers. This positions us uniquely not only in terms of material innovation but also in manufacturing maturity and process repeatability. Our capabilities are built around proprietary monocoque infusion techniques and vertically integrated production lines, optimized for flexibility, automation, and high-volume output. These lines are equipped with robotics, real-time monitoring, and AI-based quality control, enabling precise manufacturing at reduced costs and production time. This infrastructure, combined with a dedicated R&D team, allows TRYGONS to rapidly prototype, validate, and deploy solutions within real-world conditions. Beyond composites manufacturing, TRYGONS has developed strong expertise in industrial automation, smart production systems, and the implementation of advanced digital tools aligned with Industry 5.0 principles. Our commitment to human-centric, sustainable, and resilient manufacturing is reflected in our extensive portfolio of successful R&D activities, including participation in numerous European and national funded projects. These initiatives have delivered tangible results, ranging from the deployment of digital twin systems and AI-driven quality control solutions to the automation of non-rigid manufacturing processes and the integration of augmented reality tools for operator support. Our ability to translate cutting-edge research into operational advances has not only strengthened our manufacturing excellence but also positioned TRYGONS at the forefront of the transition towards smarter, greener, and more adaptable production models. Thanks to our fully operational, high-output production line, TRYGONS is uniquely positioned to act both as an experienced end user and as a technology provider in projects focused on composite materials and advanced manufacturing processes. We can offer a real-world environment for testing, validating, and scaling up innovations, while simultaneously contributing with specialized technological solutions, proprietary methods, and industry insights rooted in years of hands-on experience. Moreover, our deep track record in producing high-end CFRP equipment for elite watersports, such as specialized freediving gear for Herbert Nitsch’s "No Limits" world-record dive, and our ECORUNNER 590 fuel-efficiency world record, further confirm our capacity to lead complex, high-stakes projects from concept to execution. These successes highlight not just engineering excellence but the ability to deliver breakthrough performance under extreme operational constraints.
My name is Evagoras Zervas, and I am a Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in Industry 4.0, digital transformation in manufacturing, and the coordination of European research and innovation projects. I hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Automotive Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, where my research focused on the development of intuitive human-machine interface (HMI) concepts for automated driving. I also hold a Diploma (equivalent to MEng) in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics from the University of Patras, with a major in Design and Manufacturing. During my studies, I conducted research on cyber-physical systems and the role of Industry 4.0.
I currently serve as European Project Coordinator and Mechanical Engineer at TRYGONS S.A., where I oversee the full cycle of EU-funded projects, from proposal development and planning to execution and reporting. My responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, aligning project outcomes with strategic objectives, and facilitating collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders. I also contribute engineering expertise in the integration of advanced technologies such as VR/AR, AI-driven and image processing tools, into composite manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, efficiency, and innovation.
With a solid academic background and experience across both research and industry settings, I am particularly focused on promoting the adoption of Industry 5.0 principles and supporting digital innovation within manufacturing SMEs. I am fluent in Greek and English and experienced in cross-functional, international collaboration.
