Monomateriality on car seat fabric to enable recyclable
About
Within the scope of this call; we would like to work on solutions for the upcyling of our product. In line with customer demands, it is a priority to replace the PU lamination foam and flame lamination process in the seat cover fabric with environmentally friendly approaches. The use of PU foam in traditional production methods makes it difficult to recycle automotive upholstery fabrics. To increase recyclability, 100% monomaterialisation can be achieved by using alternative lamination materials. Monomaterial waste can be collected and recycled into staple fibre to produce a new non-woven form. This product can be reintegrated into seat cover fabrics by hot-melt lamination as a lamination material. Furthermore, MARTURFOMPAK has the SFM/SAP module for real-time carbon footprint monitoring and product traceability during these processes.
