About

A critical component of electronic identification and identity management is creating an ecosystem of cryptographic protocols that, on the one hand, provide strong authentication, while on the other hand, follow the concept of data minimization.

We have been involved in designing and security analysis of ICAO protocols as well as showing potential misuse and finding components that are vulnerable to attacks. In particular, PACE CAM of ICAO originates from one of our papers. We have shown that the current framework is insufficient in many aspects and have proposed pragmatic solutions that, among others, are backward compatible.

We aim to provide a portable set of cryptographic components that may be used to achieve the goals of the call in a pragmatic way.

We may provide deep expertise in data protection thanks to achievements in the field of anonymous communication and data hiding, as well as deep understanding of hidden obstacles in legal regulations (see our ESORICS paper on technical infeasibility of GDPR).
