Cantina dei Fragni

In a typical “masseria” of the XVII century, surrounded by centuries-old fragni, a typical kind of oaks from which it takes its name, Cantina dei Fragni makes wine from the grapes produced in the family vineyards, on the gentle hills of the Apulian Murgia between the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas. Winemakers for five generations, the Tateo’s family has been the "guardian" of this land since the late 1800s, and with a deep respect for nature, they prioritize quality and genuineness over quantity.

The pursuit of elegant wines begins with the choice of grape varieties: an indigenous grape from Southern Italy, with a strong personality and longevity such as Aglianico; the quintessential indigenous grape of Puglia, Primitivo; and the international variety Cabernet Sauvignon, which well expresses itself with our terroir. This continues with the work in the vineyard: choice of clones, cultivation techniques, agronomic practices, protection of biodiversity, environmental monitoring, careful selection of grapes. The climate, characterized by harsh winters and generally long and sunny summers, but at the same time mild, breezy and with significant temperature variations between day and night, contributes to producing healthy grapes rich in sugars, tannins, and extract. And then in the cellar, the grapes are processed right after the harvesting to preserve their integrity and then are softly pressed to collect only the finest part of the.
