In their eyes the pride of continuing a story begun 90 years ago by great-grandfather Sebastiano. At the base there is the solidity and tradition of a great family history born in Syracuse with Sebastiano Drago in 1929 and kept alive until today by the heirs of a family that has always been able to anticipate the times, but that has never abandoned tradition and craftsmanship in processing. A virtuous example of future-oriented entrepreneurship that in four generations has been able to reach all sectors of large-scale distribution and normal trade and attracted more and more end consumers. Today it is also present in international markets with the quality certified by the BRC and IFS standards. "I think it can be said that, for our company, the art of producing canned fish really has no secrets, thanks to the expertise gained in 90 years of working on the product, explains Pierpaolo Drago, Commercial Director of the company. This passion and the pleasure of being able to carry out this work has been handed down from generation to generation, in our home. A unique heritage of knowledge of recipes and processes where know-how, dexterity and sensitivity represent an essential component of all our production. My brother and I have treasured every teaching, coming to have an overall vision of the entire supply chain to deliver an excellent product to the customer. Obviously we are pleased to know that we are heirs of a passion and a pioneering spirit that have characterized the company since 1929. Today the spirit that guides us is not so different from then, concludes Pierpaolo, only that it is necessarily aimed at a market bigger, more varied and more attentive and for this reason we cannot be caught unprepared ”. The attachment to work, the passion and commitment made by each member of the family seem to be the metaphor of a reality that has been able to look at the reference market in a new way, while maintaining a strong ethical and social sense, a heart deeply linked to Sicilian territory, which he never wanted to leave and a stubborn search for quality in everything that has been done. As his father Giuseppe always remembers: “Here we were born and here we stay, as our tradition and our most genuine inspiration dictates”. The family is not only the owner but is still firmly at the helm of the company. All components contribute daily to the company's results by guiding employees first of all with their example of dedication to work and attention to every detail. Pierpaolo and Alessandro are assisted by a first-rate team, starting with their employees who work every day with commitment and dedication and who are fully part of the “Drago Conserve” family. Fish is a food that must be treated with great respect and for this Drago chooses to fish in specific areas, not to de-localize production and processing and has the most important international certifications. In fact, walking around the company, the family atmosphere does not change and the attention of each employee immediately catches the eye who, following a precise traditional technique, also handed down from generation to generation, cleans the fish by hand as if was stroking and pampering and feels proud to create a product of the highest quality. "For us the craftsmanship method is not a detail, explains Alessandro Drago, Marketing and Communication Director of the company, but the very soul of our daily commitment, because the experience acquired over time has made us true protagonists of the sector and it was fundamental to write 90 years of commercial success ”.
