The Short History of Original REX Ketchup

The secret recipe of REX Ketchup was passed down to me from my uncle. He was an extremely successful factory owner during World War II. His specially seasoned ketchup was exported in large quantities to the markets of Sweden, Switzerland, and Czechoslovakia, and by 1944 he was already competing for the leading market position in Europe! Unfortunately, the factory was destroyed at the end of the war.

Four years ago, the recipe resurfaced and we started production again. It returned to Hungarian stores and has been an extraordinary success with almost everyone! What’s more, it contains no additives, no preservatives, it is gluten-free, and now also available in sugar-free, hot, and barbecue variations.

Made according to our original secret family recipe from 80 years ago. Produced exclusively in Hungary, using only the finest Hungarian ingredients. Each 100 g of REX Ketchup is made with 280 g of tomatoes – the highest tomato content on the market! Completely free of preservatives, gluten, and additives. It is bottled in glass and then pasteurized. The unique and beloved taste of REX Ketchup comes from sun-ripened Hungarian tomatoes grown on the Great Plain, the finest spices, and of course, my uncle’s secrets. Flavor is our strength! Nobody starts a grill without it, but it also turns pasta dishes, hot sandwiches, and burgers into gourmet specialties.
