I am the Founder of Footfalls & Heartbeats. I want to change the world by making healthcare equitable and cost effective. Our solution is the fabric of society.

My organisation

Footfalls & Heartbeats have created the ultimate wearable technology. We capture unlimited, unique and unambiguous data directly from textiles, unlocking insights inaccessible to other sensor systems with the capacity to disrupt multiple markets from sports performance, sleep quality and respiration monitoring, through to healthy ageing and improved medical outcomes. We quite literally knit sensors out of textiles. “the textile is the sensor”. We capture data directly from fabrics, unlocking insights inaccessible to existing technologies. We are the “enabler of apparel data” – gathering actionable data from every fabric you interact with and presenting it in a simple, private format to user and observer alike.

About me

Simon McMaster

BSc (Chemistry & Nanotechnology). During the last 22 years Simon has conducted research in the fields of nanotechnology and textile technology on 3 continents, Australia, US and Europe. The core patentable idea uses the combination of nanoscale interactions between the fibres used in knitted textiles. His skillset is joining disparate ideas together. He has combined a set of structural laws in chemistry with the three dimensional micromechanical structures that is knitting, into a new field where data can be gathered from the fabric (quite literally) of society.
