HORIZON-CL5-2027-03-D5-06: Fire prevention and mitigation for EVs in confined areas (2ZERO Partnership)
Associate Professor (Sakarya University) & Co-Founder (NESSTEC Energy) at NESSTEC Energy & Surface Technologies AS
Sakarya, Türkiye
About
NESSTEC would contribute at battery-cell level to the selection, testing and analysis of batteries used in fire prevention and suppression studies. We have recently supported industrial companies developing fire-extinguishing liquids and preparing for battery fire test standards. Our activities include selecting suitable cells and test conditions, checking battery performance before testing, and evaluating cells after free-burning and extinguishing trials. We can carry out electrochemical, materials and post-mortem analyses to identify degradation, failure mechanisms and the root causes of thermal events. We would work together with fire-safety, testing and vehicle-integration partners to assess the effectiveness of mitigation approaches and improve the reliability of battery fire tests.
