About
ICIA is a national research institute dedicated to applied analytical chemistry in three main directions: Bioenergy and Biomass, Instrumental Analytical Chemistry and Environment and Health. ICIA has implemented the quality management system and is certified according to the ISO 9001:2008. Our laboratory is accredited by the Romanian Accreditation Association, in agreement with the request of the SR EN ISO/CEI 17025:2018 RENAR (Cert. LI 1178/04.03.2025) for analysis (https://analizechimice.ro/en/)..)
I have expertise in: removal of water pollutants (dyes, heavy metals, precious metals) by using various adsorbents (zeolites, algae, plants, ion-exchange resins, anion-exchange fibers); equilibrium and kinetic modeling, as well as thermodynamic studies for pollutant removal using mathematical models; development of advanced analytical methods for physico-chemical characterization of novel adsorbent materials; identification of optimal process parameters using experimental design; development of methods for microalgae cultivation in controlled environments; advanced methods for extracting lipids, pigments, reducing sugars, and fatty acids from algae/microalgae; and efficient methods/technologies for producing 3rd-generation biofuels.
Destination 1. Climate sciences and responses for the transformation towards climate neutrality
