D-ICE Engineering: Deeptech Solutions for a Sustainable Maritime Future
D-ICE Engineering is a deeptech company established in 2015 in Nantes, France, by scientists and engineers passionate about the oceans. We are driven by the ambition to address three major challenges in the maritime world: reducing carbon footprint, improving safety at sea, and accelerating the development of offshore clean energies.
Our Expertise and Approach
We are led by a team of 30 specialized engineers and PhDs in naval hydrodynamics, applied mathematics, robotics, and artificial intelligence. This expertise allows us to master how the ocean (wind, current, waves, and ice) impacts operations across the full lifecycle, from early design stages to ongoing support.
D-ICE develops multiphysical modeling and simulation tools alongside innovative systems and software for navigation, control, optimization, and decision support for all types of floating assets.
We employ a "Multi-fidelity" approach to ensure the economic viability of development. This approach offers the best compromise between technical accuracy and cost, making high-quality scientific results accessible even at the early design stages where budget and time are limited.
Products and Vision
This holistic vision successfully reached the market in 2022. We believe that mastering this comprehensive level of offering—backed by our core competencies in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Seakeeping, Manoeuvring, and marine environment modeling—is highly innovative and valuable for the future of the industry.
Our flagship product, OCEANiCS, is a ship navigation system that serves as our 'melting pot,' gathering all our knowledge and know-how. OCEANiCS is our first major step toward realizing smart and green ships.
