About

The Yannay Institute for Energy Security, established in 2024 at Reichman University, is dedicated to advancing energy security and resilience. Our mission is to generate actionable knowledge that strengthens energy systems in Israel and across the globe.

The Institute specializes in three core domains:

Risk Assessment – developing methodologies and analytical frameworks to evaluate system vulnerabilities, emerging threats, and long-term resilience pathways.
Energy Economics – modelling markets, assessing investment needs, analyzing cost structures and policy trade-offs, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
Innovation – mapping technological trends, evaluating emerging energy and storage technologies, and exploring pathways for integrating disruptive solutions into complex systems.

Leveraging these strengths, the Institute conducts cutting-edge research across technology, economics, regulation, and environmental fields—producing science-based studies that support the design of effective, long-term energy policies.

We also operate as a collaborative hub, convening conferences, roundtables, and expert forums that connect academia, industry, and government stakeholders.

Beyond research, the Institute invests in academic excellence and training. Through our Fellows Program, we cultivate the next generation of leaders in energy, technology, and public policy.

The Yannay Institute is well-positioned to contribute high-value analytical capabilities, methodological leadership, and policy-oriented insights to Horizon Europe proposals—particularly those addressing energy security, system resilience, innovation and the green transition.
