About

Aclima is an NGO dedicated to strengthening the climate change readiness and resilience of local municipalities. We do that by being a knowledge hub for municipal professional personnel in Israel, offering them peripheral support to plan and implement local climate solutions by developing specialized seminars and training programs, and organizing the only annual conference dedicated to this audience. We also foster learning communities and living labs, and lead leadership programs such as “Climate Ambitious Cities” for selected mayors (Top down) and “Rothschild Ambassadors” for emerging young leaders (bottom up).

Our team brings together extensive experience, and our impact is already clearly demonstrated. In addition, we bring relevant experience in EU-funded projects—we have on our team a former National Contact Point (NCP) and a former submission manager at a university research authority, supporting numerous successful proposals.

Our key strengths include:

  • Engaging end-users and municipal policymakers across a wide range of local authorities;

  • Designing and delivering effective dissemination and capacity-building activities;

  • Bridging the gap between modeling and real-world application, planning and implementation;

  • Supporting the development of resilient learning communities.

Aclima is also well-positioned to serve as a country coordinator (through cascade funding or other mechanisms) for multiple pilot sites.
