FERTIHEAT. Upgraded local heat for decarbonised fertiliser and chemical production.

CTO / Founder of CTTI at Centrum Transferu Technologii – INNOVATIONS Sp. z o.o.

About

FERTIHEAT will design, build and operate a full scale heat upgrade system in fertiliser and chemical plants. The project will recover low and medium temperature waste heat and combine it with local renewable heat, high temperature heat pumps and thermal storage to supply at least a quarter of process heat demand. It will integrate smart control so that electricity use from heat pumps can follow market prices and grid needs without disrupting production. Using standardised skid mounted modules and open design and business case tools, FERTIHEAT will generate bankable investment cases for several Industry sites and for external EU fertiliser plants. The result is a proven, replicable pathway to cut fossil heat, reduce CO2 emissions and strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of European fertiliser production.

FERTIHEAT is under HORIZON-CL5-2026-09-D4-08: Full-scale demonstration of heat upgrade solutions in industrial processes
