ClimaFI (https://climafi.earth/) is incubated by Viktoria Ventures and Vaka Consulting. We deliver data-driven products that connect IoT and operational data to sustainable finance. We are participating in the Soft-Landing Africa–Provence Connect 2025 program (https://anima.coop/en/news-17-african-startups-join-aix-marseilles-innovation-ecosystem-through-the-soft-landing-provence-africa-connect-program-anima-investment-network/).

Since 2023, we have co-developed data solutions with clients, including a cleantech company manufacturing energy-efficient grain milling machines and a sustainable agriculture business exporting from Africa to the EU.

We are exploring scale-up opportunities aligned with the European Green Deal and France-specific use cases. We aim to build local partnerships for 2026 market entry around the following data-product solutions:

1. Utilisation-linked asset finance platform — Variable pay-by-use/benefit-linked financing enabled by IoT data from smart cleantech (currently piloting with milling machines in Kenya; exploring e-mobility and solar water pumps). We are assessing replicability of the East Africa model with domestic financiers and cleantech OEMs in Europe, and designing pilots where adoption is constrained by upfront capex and customer risk appetite.

2. Data-driven validation and payment of incentives — Automated verification and disbursement for results-based finance, carbon/impact credits, and public tax-incentive programs using operational/IoT data. We are working to clarify company needs around access to incentives and to co-develop with funders an improved verification and payment engine to accelerate disbursement.

How they connect: (1) drives adoption and generates performance data; (2) verifies impact and triggers payments—creating a reinforcing loop that improves economics and scale for cleantech businesses.
