Reco Glass captures CO2 through air filters and turns them into glass.
About
For those HVAC system operators who are dissatisfied with CO2 levels in their buildings, our product is Reco Glass that provides CO2 capture.
Other carbon capture systems consume a lot of energy. Reco Glass reduces the need for ventilation and therefore the energy usage of ventilation systems in buildings.
Uniquely, this filter uses a dry process and is used to make low-carbon glass.
We introduce Reco Glass to stations, shopping malls, offices, airports & more. This smart air purifier or air conditioner tracks the air quality via an app, that can be used remotely. The data we gather allows us to optimize replacement services for our circular economy business model. The users will see how much CO2 has been absorbed and when the filter will be replaced.
The novelty lies in applying direct air capture not just anywhere, but where clean air is needed. Reco Glass absorbs not only CO2, but also improves air quality by absorbing bacteria, viruses, dust, smog, and allergens like pollen.
What happens to the filters when they have been collected?
The real CO2 savings are in the next step. The filters are transported back to a glass factory, where they are ground and mixed with the other raw materials in the glass making process.
Lastly, the use of the filter material in glass production reduces the need for silica sand, limestone, and soda ash required for glass manufacturing. This has a huge potential to reduce the environmental impact of mining and processing these materials and conserve natural resources.
