Radar Reticence AB
About
Next Generation Interference-Free Automotive Radar
Radar Reticence develops a breakthrough radar waveform and signal processing technology that eliminates interference at the source, enabling reliable radar sensing in dense traffic environments. Our patented dual-sweep modulation and association algorithms make slow-chirp radar viable for automotive applications for the first time, allowing thousands of radars to coexist in the same spectrum without mutual disturbance. The technology is delivered as firmware/IP for integration into automotive radar chips and modules by Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers.
Our mission is to enable scalable, robust radar performance for next-generation ADAS and automated driving systems, where dependable perception is critical for safety and higher levels of autonomy.
What Makes Us Unique
Radar Reticence is the first to provide an interference-free radar solution by design, rather than relying on post-processing or coordination between vehicles. Our approach creates a channelized radar architecture where each radar operates on mathematically orthogonal waveforms, enabling over 1,000 concurrent radars per GHz of bandwidth without collisions. This delivers a 100–1000× improvement in interference robustness compared to today’s fast-chirp FMCW systems and scales naturally as radar density increases.
The solution is compatible with existing FMCW, emerging imaging, and future digital radar platforms, and can be implemented on current automotive chipsets without changes to RF hardware, significantly reducing time-to-market and integration risk.
Why It Matters
As the number of radars per vehicle grows toward L2+/L3 autonomy and beyond, mutual interference is becoming a fundamental bottleneck for performance, safety, and scalability. Current mitigation techniques are costly, compute-intensive, and do not scale in high-density traffic. By removing interference at the waveform level, Radar Reticence enables reliable detection, tracking, and angular resolution even in crowded spectral environments, supporting safer ADAS, advanced imaging radar, and future autonomous functions.
Who We Are
Radar Reticence is a Swedish deep-tech company founded in 2022, based on patented research from Halmstad University and Linköping University. The team combines decades of experience in radar physics, signal processing, and automotive systems, and is supported by an advisory board with senior industry backgrounds. The company is currently at TRL 6, with large-scale real-traffic validation completed and a clear roadmap toward chip-level integration and Tier-1 design-ins.
