About me
My name is Nils Bågenholm, and I am a passionate and innovative professional with a strong background in materials science and business development. Currently, I live in Gothenburg, Sweden, where I co-founded Mat4green Tech AB in 2017. Since its inception, I have served as both the Head of the Board and the Marketing Manager, helping to steer the company towards success in the field of sustainable technology. My work at Mat4green Tech has been incredibly rewarding, particularly because it aligns with my commitment to sustainability and innovation. We focus primarily on semiconductor particle production and indium recovery, two areas that are vital for the future of green technologies. Leading the company’s marketing efforts, I have been able to contribute to its growth and broaden its influence in the tech industry.
Before launching Mat4green Tech, I founded NIBA in 2013, which marked my first step into entrepreneurship. Running NIBA allowed me to hone my business acumen and develop a deeper understanding of marketing strategies, especially within the tech industry. I learned how to grow a business from the ground up, which provided invaluable experience for my later ventures. I stepped away from NIBA in 2017 to focus on my role at Mat4green Tech, but the lessons I learned during that time continue to shape my approach to business.
My educational background laid the foundation for the technical expertise I bring to my work today. I earned my degree from Chalmers University of Technology, one of Sweden’s leading institutions for engineering and technology. From 2008 to 2013, I immersed myself in an environment that fostered innovation and creativity, particularly in the fields of materials science and technology. This education has been crucial for my later work in specialized areas such as metal powders, alloy powders, oxide powders, and thin film photovoltaic materials, which are key components in industries like renewable energy and electronics.
To further refine my business skills, I pursued additional training, most notably attending Sälj & Marknadshögskolan from 2021 to 2022, where I trained as a Key Account Manager. This course helped me deepen my understanding of client relations and business development. In addition, I participated in the EIT Raw Materials Innovative Idea and Business Creation training in 2017, and I have been involved in their start-up acceleration trainings from 2018 to 2022. These programs provided me with the tools to scale innovative business ideas and equipped me with the entrepreneurial mindset necessary for leading cutting-edge projects.
Throughout my career, I have led numerous high-impact projects. Notably, I served as Director for several Vinnova and EIT Raw Materials funded projects that focused on indium recovery and semiconductor particle production. These projects are particularly important in advancing photovoltaic technologies and electronics manufacturing, two fields that are essential for a more sustainable future.
Overall, my work is driven by a desire to contribute to a more sustainable world through innovative technologies. I have developed a strong specialization in areas like thin film PV materials, metal powders, and touch screen materials. My career has been both challenging and rewarding, and I am excited about the future as I continue to push the boundaries of innovation in green technology.
